A pause for my brother

Hello folks. Sorry to be away for so long. I have been working on a multi-part series of posts about my ancestors story as passed down and documented, about recent accounts of the history of Middletown, New Jersey where they settled many yars ago to put flesh on he bones of the concept of the term "erasure."; about my family of origina moving from Atlantic Highlands to Middletown, N.J. and about my brothers and sister and my experiences living there. And then my second eldest brother Bruce Heat past away. So I'm dealing with that now.

It is with a heavy heart that I've released my beloved brother Bruce to Eternity's embrace while keeping his essence in my heart. His gifts for sports and for the arts were immense; his ability to express his soul through paint on canvas; pen, ink, charcoal, and pastel on paper; and 3-dimensional carvings and sculpture were all somehow both intensly primal and sensitively refined. He was a pied piper, holding the secret of children's joy, fun, and laughter in the palms of his hands.

All of this was taken away from him, from us his family and friends, and from the World too soon. I carry what I can of what I was able to learn from him. That and my love.

Rest in peace, Brucie.
